San Godenzo - San Godenzo is a Tuscan town in the province of Florence, rises 400 meters above sea level and has 1,100 inhabitants. The municipality wanted to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Alighieri's death with effigies and citations that cover every place in the area. Dante loved these places where he took refuge on the run from Florence, evidence of this is the mention in the XVI canto of the inferno of the waterfall of the still water, which flows here in the area. San Godenzo occupies a mountain area quite close to the capital Florence, and besides Dante is famous for chestnuts, a very precious agricultural and economic resource for the area. Although it is a sparsely inhabited municipality, its municipal extension is very large and includes 9,000 hectares of woods, including the famous chestnut groves that produce the famous IGP brown, which moves a considerable economic inducement made up of various farms. The bet made by San Godenzo on culture and Dante was abundantly won, relaunching the tourist sector in a big way.
