The national fair of decoy birds, an annual event in Castelfranco Piandiscò

Castelfranco Piandiscò - For over 40 years in Castelfranco Piandiscò an event that has a national character has been taking place, but which has ended up involving the inhabitants of this town in the Valdarno firsthand. This is the National Fair of Recalling Birds, an event that includes several moments and which usually unfolds over two days, Saturday and Sunday.

Traditionally, the hunter's dinner was held on Saturday evening, a convivial moment to which the dinner of the districts was later added. The actual Fair takes place on Sunday morning, with the relative award ceremony. The challenge between the districts is then held on Sunday afternoon. During dinner, the solemn delivery of the jerseys to wear during the race to be held the following day takes place. The competition consists of one of the most traditional games, which is the tug of war. The event, if time permits, is always very successful and has had a great development thanks to the collaboration of the President and the Fiera Terranuova Committee.
