Pozzuoli - Pozzuoli is a Campania town in the province of Naples; it has 83,000 inhabitants. Jewel of Pozzuoli is the church of San Procolo, its patron; closed following a fire in 1964, the basilica was restored, especially in the interior and reopened only in 2014. In ancient times, the relics of San Gennaro were brought here. The basilica is in Baroque style and inside it incorporated the remains of a Roman temple that once stood on that site.

The temple of extraordinary value was dedicated to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva. From the Augustan period it can be dated between 27 BC. C. and 14 d. C, with Corinthian colonnade, entirely in Lunense marble. The temple sees the light again in 2006 after a long campaign of excavations and restorations following the aforementioned fire of 1964 that destroyed the cathedral. The redevelopment works continue and involve the terra district, a hilly place, once a meeting place for fishermen, artisans and all the humble people of Pozzuoli. The works will not have a short time and in any case the district will be partially upset, giving space to tourist activities and accommodation for visitors. The Terra district was totally evacuated on 2 March 1970 due to the danger of collapse connected to the bradyseism phenomena in the area. Thousands of people who had lived there for decades were forced to leave their homes, with only one dream: to return.
