Even older is the Palazzo dei Priori, XIII century, with the heraldic coats of arms, the portico with lowered vaults and the tower. The Astrusi theater, built in the first half of the 19th century, is an elegant example of neoclassical architecture. Visiting Montalcino we cannot miss the tasting of Brunello wine, produced in the surrounding hills for more than 200 years. Aged in the cellar for five years, its tasting must be slow, to grasp its refinement and intensity of taste. Produced in consortium by the cellars, Brunello was the first wine to receive the DOCG in 1980 by President Pertini and is the symbol of Tuscan wine-viticulture all over the world.
