Pescara - Pescara is a provincial capital of Abruzzo with 123,000 inhabitants. An outdoor theater and the pine forest where he used to take refuge to remember and relive his art have also been dedicated to him. Also in the old part of the city is the Cathedral, dedicated to San Cetto, patron saint of Pescara. It too is linked to the poet since it was wanted and financed by him. Inside it houses the tomb of the poet's mother. The most modern and lively area of Pescara is instead the seafront, populated by places for the visitor's leisure and refreshment. Here is one of the symbols of Pescara, the ship of Cascella, a fountain in white Carrara marble created by the artist Pietro Cascella and then donated to the municipality. Do not miss the largest cycle-pedestrian bridge in Italy, built in 2009: the sea bridge. The trabocchi, the ancient Abruzzo fishing machines, built in wood on stilts and now used as bars and restaurants, are worth a visit.
