Visit the island of Giglio

Isola del Giglio - The Isola del Giglio is located in the province of Grosseto, it is part of the Tuscan Archipelago, a true jewel of the Mediterranean Sea. Extending 21 sq km, it has 1,700 inhabitants. You arrive after an hour of navigation, starting from Porto Santo Stefano, a pretty town at the foot of the Argentario Promontory. The port is in Giglio Porto, a small harbor with crystal clear waters and enchanting coves; the port is overlooked by pretty rooms from which to enjoy a pleasant view.

Not far from the port is the bus stop that leads to the main towns of the island. The island is almost entirely hilly, the highest peak is Poggio della Pagana, 496 meters, wild and full of luxuriant Mediterranean scrub that alternates with bare rock. Giglio Castello is a village located in the central and highest part of the island, of medieval origins, it is counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy; is the capital of the island. It is pleasant to get lost in its alleys full of shops and clubs. The island is not only crystal clear sea and unspoiled nature; it is also culture: you can find a calendar full of interesting festivals and events.
