In the upper part of the city is the Calvary, a place of great religious value from which you can have a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. Also worth a visit is the Church of San Nicola which houses a precious altar. It was donated by the Bishop of Mileto between 1508 and 1523 and consists of three statues: the Madonna and Child, San Giovanni Battista and San Giovanni Evangelista. Galatro is also famous for its thermal baths which attract many tourists every year. These sulphurous waters not only have relaxing properties but are also used to treat respiratory diseases.
