Casa.museo Galimberti - The house tells a story started by enlightened and innovative ancestors. From grandfather Bartolomeo and his wife, from the newspaper La sentinella delle Alpi and from the sheet music by Listz. That turn of the century culture opened an unforgettable passage in the years of fascist oppression. The house tells the story of the study of Mazzini's doctrines and of Garibaldi's exploits and of that uniform that his nephews Duccio and Carlo Enrico wore from an early age, in an old photo exhibited with pride.

The parents Tancredi and Alice were patrons of Turin artists of the stature of De Nittis, Previati, Delliani, Olivero and Sacheni and loved to enrich the house with their works, leaving us a small and precious art gallery. The house tells of the respect of two children who chose to expose themselves to anti-fascist action only after the death of their father Tancredi, knowing the risks. Duccio's speech in front of a crowded square on 12 January 1944 was famous, when Mussolini's arrest gave new hope. But it was certainly not over and he had to hide with his group Justice and Freedom, until the capture and death sentence at the hands of the Nazis on December 3, 1944. The 27,000 volumes housed in the children's room are available for consultation. Many of these are historians of the Risorgimento and also speak of that house and of the secret words, of the courageous choices, future bricks of the Italian Republic.
