Filadelfia - A small Calabrian hilly center in the province of Vibo Valenza, Filadelfia is located between the sea and the mountains, on a rich and prosperous hill. It rises in the narrowest point of the Italian territory, between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas. The architecture and urban layout start from the very particular Piazza Serrao which is divided by a Greek cross that cuts the entire village into four characteristic districts, each with its own church.

Filadelfia is located at an altitude of 600 meters and has 5,000 inhabitants. Notable churches. Santa Barbara with a light brick facade; a small staircase leads to the beautiful portal decorated with fantastic pilasters. The interior recalls the Byzantine style, with three naves with remarkable frescoes. San Teodoro is an immense structure that is striking for its size, with three naves and a remarkable frescoed dome. The particular structure of the square manages to re-propose perfectly aligned churches; in its center there is a beautiful fountain and an imposing war memorial. Other churches worthy of mention are that of San Francesco, baroque, and that of the Madonna del Carmine.
