Discovering Graffignano

Graffignano - Graffignano is a charming town of 2400 inhabitants in the province of Viterbo. Its territory offers very suggestive landscapes consisting of woods, expanses of sunflowers, olive groves and vineyards. The town is divided into two main hamlets: Graffignano where the municipality is located and Sipicciano which is well connected by the motorway and railway making it a reference point for those who also want to visit the nearby towns of the Valle dei Calanchi.

A building of great historical value is the Baglioni Castle dating back to the 13th century. The complex of the Madonna del Castellonchio is also fascinating, where thousands of pilgrims from all over the province go to it in the month of May. According to legend, the structure was built in the place where the Virgin had predicted to a sick woman that on August 8 it would snow. Not far from here there is a lovely fountain where the faithful can quench their thirst. Very beautiful is the Patronal Church of San Martino built at the beginning of the twentieth century. In the aforementioned hamlet of Sipicciano stands the magnificent Baronial Palace.
