Immediately north of the hill on which Certaldo Alta stands is the Lizia Valley which ends on the left of the historic center, while Poggio del Boccaccio extends to the right. The peculiarity is its perfectly geometric trapezoid shape. The symbol of the city is the Casa del Boccaccio, a museum named after the poet; the building is divided into two floors: on the ground floor there are panels depicting the life of Boccaccio, on the first floor there is the fresco room and the library and on the second floor there is access to a covered loggia from which it is possible to access at the top of the tower to be able to enjoy a beautiful view of the Valdelsa.
