The Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo is one of the best preserved medieval buildings in Gubbio. The Palazzo del Bargello and the Fountain of the Fools is an attraction much loved by visitors: according to an ancient tradition, the foreigner who runs three laps around the fountain and agrees to be bathed in water becomes a citizen of Gubbio with the title of 'honorary madman of Gubbio'. The Botte Grande dei Canonici is located in the Palazzo dei Canonici in Via Federico di Montefeltro; it is a sixteenth-century barrel that contained 20124 liters of wine! Finally, the Church of S. Francesco della Pace is a place full of religiosity: according to tradition, here was the cave where the wolf of Gubbio lived. Inside you can see the stone on which it is said that the peace pact between St. Francis and the wolf took place.
