The waterfalls and lakes of the Rutor

Cascate del Rutor - The Rutor waterfalls, near La Thuile, are one of the most evocative naturalistic attractions in Italy. The Rutor waterfalls are generated by the stream of the same name that descends from the Rutor Glacier, one of the largest in the Aosta valley. To admire them you can take a path that starts from La Joux (1,603 m). These are three impressive waterfalls that can be reached through a fairly simple path that can be covered in about 2 and a half hours, totally immersed in the magnificent woods of the area.

The Rutor glacier, on the other hand, can only be reached by expert climbers. As the journey continues, the visitor will feel more and more pervaded by the impetuous force of nature, being able to enjoy breathtaking views. After passing the waterfalls it will be possible to continue towards Lac du Glacier (2140 m) and the Deffeyes Refuge (2500 m), from which it will be possible to admire the Rutor Glacier in the distance. Continuing it will be possible to admire instead the Green Lake and the Gray Lake.
