In fact, the inhabitants of the Cinque Terre have managed to populate a hostile territory, overlooking the sea, working it in terraces thanks to the use of dry stone walls. Tourists who want to visit the Cinque Terre villages should preferably prefer the train, which is the most convenient way to move between the villages. The alternative is to go on foot, a very pleasant activity since there are many well-marked routes that allow you to enjoy breathtaking views. The two most popular routes are the blue path, between Vernazza and Corniglia, and the way of love between Riomaggiore and Manarola. For those who love to sunbathe on the beach, the recommended location is Monterosso, where there are many private and public beaches.
