The picturesque Savigliano

Savigliano - Savigliano is a charming town of 21,000 inhabitants in the province of Cuneo. In its territory there are several interesting churches such as that of San Pietro with its facade divided by four imposing columns and embellished with circular windows. Also worth a visit is the Collegiate Church of Sant'Andrea dating back to around the year 1000 which over the years has undergone various changes and renovations.

Noteworthy is the Milanollo Theater. It is dedicated to the sisters Teresa and Maria Milanollo, two famous violinists originally from the city of Savigliano. Very beautiful are the two statues present on the niches of the façade representing the Comedy and the Tragedy while a statue of the Genius of Glory that crowns Music and Poetry dominates the front. Not far from here stands the former Convent of Santa Monica which currently houses the branch of the University of Turin. The structure consists of a large internal cloister and an imposing three-storey loggia with arches and windows.
