What to see in Nicotera besides the sea.

Nicotera - Nicotera, a very ancient Calabrian mountain village, hides some surprises inside to be discovered, such as the view of the belvedere, the Ruffo castle-palace and the ancient alleys, perfect for a quiet walk. Our tour starts from Vico degli Ombrelli; a very colorful alley with steps, where we find written in all the languages of the world 'I love you Nicotera'.

Looking up above us, in the space between the two rows of buildings, a series of suspended colored umbrellas make the perfect street for photography lovers, to visit, for an even more suggestive atmosphere, in the evening. We continue with a stop at the viewpoint of the public garden; from here you can enjoy a spectacular view of the sea and the Calabrian coast up to the Tre Torri, Palmi, and Gioia Tauro, even more beautiful when the sun sets. The next stop is the cathedral of Nicotera, a church with three naves that can be visited. We continue with the visit to Palazzo Castello Ruffo, where it is possible to discover the history of the noble family of Nicotera.
