The route starts right from the village of Chiusi and winds in a ring for a duration of about three hours, until it reaches the Sanctuary. It is precisely the same path made by St. Francis and thousands of pilgrims. The difference in height is 180 meters and it is a route that can also be used by the less experienced. During the ascent to the sanctuary it is possible to meet different types of chapels, such as the Chapel of the birds, and other places linked to the life of the Saint. In addition to its religious importance, the route is very suggestive from a naturalistic point of view and offers the visitor an immersive walk in the Casentino area. Such as the Bosco delle Fate, a small detour in the path to the Sanctuary, so called for the suggestive, and enchanted, landscape rich in rocks and very tall beech trees.
