Chiavari - Chiavari is a tiny town of 27,000 inhabitants overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio, 30 kilometers from the capital Genoa. Important commercial and tourist center, despite its size it offers visitors several attractions to see among which we find its beaches, the Old Town with its straight alley and the characteristic shops under the arcades, the imposing Cathedral of Our Lady of the Garden, the Marina with its tourist port and the magnificent Villa Rocca City Park.

Via Remolari was formerly the site of several workshops that produced the oars of Genoese boats using only wood from the beech trees of Monte Penna. There are numerous statues in the town among these the main ones are those of John Paul II which is located under the colonnade of the Cathedral, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, Giuseppe Mazzini, Nino Bixio and Giuseppe Garibaldi. The latter became a citizen of Chiavari after the annexation of Nice to France.
