Roccaverano, a village in the Asti Langa

Nature Culture Folklore and traditions Practical information

Roccaverano - Roccaverano is a town of just under 400 inhabitants and is located in the province of Asti, in Piedmont. It is perched on a high hill in the Langa Astigiana, usually not very popular with tourists. Roccaverano is well known for the production of Robiola (from Roccaverano), a type of cheese. Despite the smallness of its size, it is possible to carry out various activities within this village: one of these is certainly a visit to the remains of the Castle, of which a wall remains that occupies one side of the square, or climb to the top of the Torre del Castle more than 30 meters high, from which it is possible to admire a wonderful panorama.

If you want to get in touch with the artistic reality of this village, visiting the Church of San Giovanni Battista and admiring the frescoes dating back to the fifteenth century, is the best choice. For nature lovers it is possible to take an excursion in the hills of the Langa Astigiana to enjoy the view of dense woods and green pastures, crossed by small streams.
