Bolognano

Bolognano - Bolognano is a medieval village nestled in the valley of the Orta river. The city is a real open-air museum thanks to the works of Baroness Turini. distance from the village; next to it is the garden of 100 red roses. For the city there are many works of contemporary art that create a perfect mix between ancient and modern. From the center of the city there are some paths including one that leads to the Orta river and one to the Bolognano cistern.

In the historic center of the city there are several churches including the church of Sant'Antonio Abate; the church has a rectangular plan with the façade divided in two by a string course cornice. The interior has a single nave with three large niches on each side, divided into columns painted in gold. In the hamlet of the municipality of Caramanico Terme there is the church of San Tommaso Becket, the interior of the church consists of solid square pillars that support the roof of the building, on each pillar there are some frescoes depicting the passion of Christ. The most important is the Holy Column defined as such because according to the legend posed by the angels.
