From this small town it is possible to enjoy a wonderful view of three islands: Isola Madre, Isola Superiore and Isola Bella, the latter is located 400 meters from the town of Stresa and is dominated by the majestic Palazzo Borromeo. The three islands, all three belonging to the archipelago of the Borromean Islands, are well known throughout Italy and very popular with tourists from all over Europe, especially the Dutch and Germans. Originally the municipality of Bavero, thanks to its Via Severiana Augusta, connected Milan and Lake Maggiore, playing a very important role in the whole area.
