Certaldo, a picturesque village, the land of Boccaccio

Certaldo - We are located in one of the most beautiful and evocative medieval villages in all of Tuscany, the birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio, Certaldo, an artistic village that is part of the Val d'Elsa, divided into a more modern and an ancient part, the medieval one, connected by a funicular. Its history is very ancient, in fact it was inhabited since the Etruscan age, but it developed as a castle in the early Middle Ages, its documented history dates back to 1164.

Rich in history, suggestive landscapes and art, in Certaldo there are absolutely to visit, the Museo del Chiodo, in Palazzo Giannozzi, where there is a unique collection of nails and tools that tell the artisan tradition, as well as anecdotes, stories and drawings preserved there.
