Amelia - Today we take you to one of the oldest villages in the whole of Umbria, in the province of Terni. We are in Amelia, 406 meters above sea level. Its construction dates back to 1100 BC therefore there are numerous testimonies of its past inside. There are attestations from every epoch, from the pre-Roman to the Renaissance ones. But let's figure out which ones.

Let's start right from the walls, the main demonstration of the various historical periods; the oldest part dates back to the VII-VI century, characterized by huge boulders, visible passing through the Porta della Valle. The upper part of them, visible from the Roman and Posterola gates, dates back to Roman times and the early Middle Ages. From here, you have access to the village. Among the buildings of main importance we mention the Farattini Palace and the Petrignani Palace, the archaeological civic museum, housed in a former Franciscan convent, where we find finds from Ancient Greece, and the Roman Cisterns, dating back to the Golden Age of 'Roman times.
