Visit Riparbella

Riparbella - Riparbella is a Tuscan town, in the province of Pisa. Located 216 meters above sea level, it has 1,600 inhabitants. It rises on the southern slopes of the Pisan hills just 14 km from the sea of Cecina, easily reachable by car. Riparbella boasts a landscape of rare beauty being able to count on a skilful blend of woods, olive groves, vineyards and a countryside worked with art and skill that betrays the agricultural character of the country.

The historic center is gathered around the castle and is of medieval origin, dating back to around the year 1000. The merit of the urban configuration certainly belongs to the Della Gherardesca Counts; alleys and ancient houses dot the historic center; artistically, the 15th century Palazzo del Marchese Carlotti, the Palazzo Comunale and the church of San Giovanni Evangelista certainly stand out. A special mention deserves the animated nativity scene that is housed in the premises of the former cinema, 80 square meters and 140 statuettes of 20 centimeters. Riparbella boasts a good tourist inclination, facilitated by the proximity of the motorway and the Via Aurelia. Lately it has consequently invested heavily in high-level accommodation facilities.
