San Lorenzo Nuovo - San Lorenzo Nuovo is a small town in the province of Viterbo overlooking Lake Bolsena; the great volcanic basin that enchants the lands of upper Lazio. San Lorenzo Nuovo is a city built in the eighteenth century, it was in fact designed at the behest of Pope Clement XIV who, wanting to reclaim the malarial areas of Lake Bolsena, moved the site of the town to a higher area.

The old town was located further downstream, less distant from the shores of the lake and was built in the VIII a. C; the project by the architect Navone was completed under the tutelage of Cardinal Braschi in 1778. The economy of the city is mainly based on two factors: agriculture and tourism. The central square of the town, Piazza Europa has an octagonal shape from which wide avenues open, the architect Navone wanted to give the city a tourist structure based on large squares and large streets. The church of San Lorenzo Martire is located in a symmetrical position to the church of Santa Maria Assunta. The Pignataro square is characterized by the three mouths fountain.
