Arvier - Arvier is a small medieval village in the province of Aosta, located at an altitude of 776 meters, although it should be noted that the municipal area is characterized by a considerable difference in height. It counts 900 inhabitants. Lying on the bottom of the Dora Baltea, not far from Aosta, Arvier is a tourist center of excellence. (continues below the video)
Consisting of two enchanting medieval villages in which the elements of stone and wood dominate, it offers the visitor a disruptive nature made available in the form of sport climbing on rocky walls, walks, excursions, all through a dense network of nature trails. Everywhere there are traces of eighteenth-century peasant tradition and attachment to the land. The visitor can enjoy educational museums, mills, old dairies. In the area there are interesting 13th century strongholds and castles. Noteworthy is the Parish Church of San Supplizio with its towering Romanesque bell tower and its frescoes from the 15th century. Culturally very active center, it organizes every year an international competition halfway between skiing and mountaineering, which is very popular in the area. To visit the Lake of Lolair. Famous are the native vineyards that provide an excellent red wine; there are many events related to oenology.
