Accettura - Accettura is a village a few kilometers from Matera, in Basilicata, known throughout Europe for the celebration of the Maggio dell'Accettura, a popular festival held on the days of Pentecost. It is a very ancient and complex ritual which, briefly, consists in the grafting of two different trees together: a turkey oak and a holly. In the village there is also the museum of arboreal cults which houses an exhibition of paintings, photographs and videos of the May festival, and tools typical of peasant civilization and forestry work.

The structure also offers texts and information regarding the anthropological and social rites and the ancient traditions linked to tree cults, typical of these areas of Italy. One of the major monuments of the town is the church of Sant'Antonio, a former convent of the conventual minor friars. Passing through Vicoletto Pozzo, the narrowest road in Italy as it is only 40 centimeters wide, you arrive in the town and the church of the Annunziata, which preserves a beautiful wooden statue of the Madonna. A unique work in Italy as it was born from the union of three different works. Inside there is also the statue of San Giuliano, who is accompanied every year in the traditional procession for the feast of the patron. Last but not least, it is right to mention the Regional Park of Gallipoli Cognato Piccole Dolomiti Lucane. A place where nature, flora and fauna are protected and welcome man with events and adventure paths.
