Terranova di Pollino, surrounded by history and nature reserves

Terranova del Pollino - We are on the Lucan side of the Pollino National Park, in the homonymous city of Terranova di Pollini, an area rich in naturalistic and historical and artistic attractions. The symbols of the city are the timpe, green spaces that are located within the park, ideal places for excursions, including that of Falconara. Particularly beautiful and evocative to see is the centuries-old Loricato pine, the tree of greatest naturalistic and scientific interest in all of Lucania.

Terranova Pollini has two cities in one, the most suggestive is certainly the old city, where most of the most interesting historical buildings to see are located. We have the Church of the Madonna delle Grazie where it is possible to admire the precious painting of the same name. Of very high artistic value is also the Parish Church where the altarpiece and a painting dedicated to the Virgin Mary, San Domenico and Santa Caterina are kept. Not far away is the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Pietà which preserves frescoes from the 1700s. Also worth visiting are the historic palaces and villas such as Palazzo Rusciano from 1893.
