The place is named in this way for the rich Mediterranean scrub that characterizes it, and is the result of the recovery that nature has had on man after the closure of the factories for mining. Despite this, there is no lack of the unmistakable crystalline sea of Sardinia, to be enjoyed in the best beaches such as Pistis, Fontanazza, Torre dei Corsari and Piscinas. Nature therefore reigns supreme, in fact the place is also admirable from the faunal point of view. Sardinian deer are often sighted, and the particular caretta caretta turtle is very present in the Piscinas area. Also due to the absence of resorts or establishments, the area is very popular with surfers.
