Between vineyards and medieval buildings, Murazzano

Nature Culture Practical information

Murazzano - We are in the province of Cuneo, in a small village defined as the 'shield and key' of Piedmont due to its strategic position: let's go and visit Murazzano! We begin our itinerary by admiring its millennial high tower, 33 meters high, the emblem of the town. From the top of the tower, the Langhe are perfectly outlined, sloping down to the plain, with castles and vineyards in the setting of the Alps, dominated by the Monviso.

The construction, in ancient times, was the strongest and safest work of the whole defense system. Connected to the castle via a footbridge that still takes us to the front door to climb to its top. Let's visit the Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine di Anne, which stands on the remains of an older church, the Church of Santa Maria di Fusignano. Inside, an image of the Madonna with child, painted on a slate plate, has been venerated since 1630. On Via Conte Adami, there is an eclectic-style palace, Palazzo Tovegni, as peculiar as the facade of a Norwegian palace is reproduced in the smallest details.
