The result was the construction of various fortifications and fortresses for defense, including, not hidden, the magnificence and marked elegance of the Castle of Marne, the subject of numerous tales and legends of controversial veracity. The bishop of Bergamo ceded it to the Avogadro family, which was succeeded by the Visconti in 1398, until the destructive fury of Pandolfo Malatesta who razed the fortress and the surrounding houses to the ground. Until the Republic of Venice restored the village to its ancient splendor and built Rhodes and Filago. Thanks to Bartolomeo Colleoni, the Castle can be visited in all its magnificence, and today it hosts exhibitions, events and ceremonies, thanks to its magical internal atmosphere and its garden that offers various floral varieties and massive trees. The crenellated towers and the drawbridge are still intact. In addition to the Castle, Filago hosts the festival dedicated to independent music in the Filago sto Festival in August.
