Visit Bubbio

Nature Culture Practical information

Bubbio - Bubbio is a small village of almost 900 inhabitants south of Asti, in the heart of the Langhe. The town is an ancient Monferrato property of Roman origin, and today it has a typical fourteenth-century structure: the main road, the houses on the sides, and the two symbols of power at the extremes: on one side we have in fact the characteristic baroque parish dedicated to 'Assunta and the former Confraternita dei Battuti, at the opposite end we find the castle, on the highest rock, between the valley and the river, to defend the village.

Around the village the landscapes are very suggestive: in the upper part we find country lanes, while in the lower part there are paths in the heart of the wonderful surrounding countryside. A very popular path is the one that leads to the suggestive and panoramic Church of San Grato, with its characteristic octagonal plan. In the opposite direction we have the beautiful Meyer Park, an artistic amphitheater on top of the hill with the cheerful sculptures of the Swiss artist Quirin Meyer.
