Termoli, a city between the sea and the Middle Ages

Culture Curiosities

Termoli - There is a city that captures for its charm between history, sea and hospitality: Termoli. The Borgo Vecchio offers an extraordinary view of the sea, being perched on a large promontory overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Being fascinated by the intricate streets is very easy, especially when you have the opportunity to come across the so-called 'Rejecelle', one of the narrowest streets in Europe: just think that in some places its width is less than 40 centimeters. Another fascinating destination is the Apulian Romanesque-style cathedral, the cathedral of Santa Maria della Purificazione. Alternatively, you can wander among the shops and restaurants in the fascinating setting of the Corso Nazionale, the pulsating artery of the city. The city can also be appreciated for seaside tourism, thanks to both its sandy coasts and the establishments equipped for water sports. The coast is dotted with so-called trabucchi, structures similar to stilts suitable for fishing. The consequent quality of fish products makes one of the many fish restaurants an obligatory stop for any tourist.
