In the highest part of the town it is possible to admire the ancient fortress, consisting of two cylindrical towers on a polygonal plan. Given its strategic importance, Polino was highly coveted by various conquerors, hence the need to defend itself from attacks. Thus it was that the fortress was built which enclosed the houses of the wealthy inside, the museum is set up in the fortification. Inside the Museum of the Umbrian Apennines it is possible to observe the formation of the Umbrian Apennines, fossils, the formation of the Marmore Falls, flora and fauna of the territory. In 1762 iron, silver and gold mines were opened in the north with which coins of Clement XIII were minted. At the entrance to the town it is possible to admire the Polino fountain, built by the Marquis Castelli in a mannerist style in 1615. The most awaited event is the feast of the patron Saint Anthony, celebrated twice a year. In January Sant'Antonio Abate is celebrated, while in June Sant'Antonio da Padova, both very important for the village as they are linked to the tradition of the blessing of cattle. The procession starts from the homonymous church and ends with the arrival at the hermitage dedicated to the two saints. The hermitage dating back to the 12th century is carved into the rock, after the procession the citizens can go down from the hermitage cheered by the music of the musical band and eating aniseed donuts and wine. To characterize the manifestation of Sant'Antonio da Padova is the parade of baskets. The procession is very particular, in fact, decorated baskets and the faithful dressed in traditional clothes of the time are paraded through the streets of the town. Inside the baskets there are gifts that are given to associations at the end of the party so that next year they can organize the event. Dancing and singing the Polynesi parade in period clothes through the streets; a truly unique and very colorful procession.
