Although the city of medieval origins was completely destroyed, the fourteenth-century footprints of the towns still remain. Among the monuments of the city the most important is the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Val di Prata, located on the slopes of Monte Amiata a stone's throw from the town. Perched on a sweet hill, we find the village of Castiglioncello Baldini. The settlement developed around the castle, known as Castiglioncello di Stribugliano at the foot of the nature reserve. Castiglion del Torto is an imposing building consisting of a series of buildings and two tower-like structures with walls covered with stones. The north side of the castle overlooks a large Renaissance courtyard. Here the chestnut groves dissolve almost until the appearance of olive trees and vines that make up the agriculture that is at the base of the trade, we also have the production of monte cucco di ogc for which a wine route was created. Cinigiano developed under the control of the powerful Aldobrandeschi counts first and then of Battifolle, to merge under the dominion of Siena and Tuscany. Siena also exercised control over the hamlet of Porrona, during the 14th century the village became inhabited by other powerful Sienese families, the inhabited center is accessible from the ancient gate of medieval origin that surround the fortified structure of the castle as usual. overlooks the main square. The hamlet of Poggi del Sasso appears as a scattered village born from the grouping of rural hamlets. One of the historic villages is Poggio Castello, or the upper part of the village, which fascinates for its half-moon shape, which is why it is thought that the upper part dates back to an ancient fortification. Located to the north of the hamlet is the Colle Massari complex which was built as a castle in medieval times as a possession of the monks of the abbey of San Galgano, today the seat of the Forum Bertarelli, a renowned farm. To the south it is possible to visit the castle of Monte Cucco, from which the wine takes its name. Near the castle there is the chapel dedicated to Sant'Antonio. Among the manors of Cinigiano we find the Castello dei Vicarello built in 200, the ancient manor owes its splendor to careful restorations that are still done privately today. The monastery of the Siloe community is a prayer jewel of modern architecture. In Siloe, the rule of St. Benedict marks every moment of the community which gladly opens its doors to visitors in the wax of peace. Among the hills of Cinigiano we find Sasso d'Ombrone, built in correspondence with the homonymous river.
