Discovering Fiumara

Fiumara - Fiumara is a town in the province of Reggio Calabria, halfway between the sea and the Aspromonte. The town has 950 inhabitants and was the birthplace of the famous singer Mino Reitano. Fiumara is made up of 5 hamlets among which Borgo Terra stands out where there are numerous historical monuments such as the Church of the Immaculate Conception where there is a valuable painting of the Madonna, Palazzo Catalani and the old Town Hall.

Also very beautiful is the Church of San Rocco in the Rione Tre Rupi which houses statues of notable workmanship depicting sacred characters. Also worth visiting is the Church of the Madonna del Carmine in the San Nicola district inside which there is a splendid wooden statue of the Madonna. In the Rione Croce we find the Church of the Child Jesus where we find a valuable fresco of the Holy Family. The Church of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles is also worth visiting. Events of great attraction in Fiumara is the Living Nativity as well as the various patronal festivals and festivals in which local products such as Canestrato cheese are served.
