Courmayeur, the gateway to Mont Blanc

Courmayeur - Courmayeur is a very famous alpine tourist and ski resort, exactly at the foot of the gentle giant, Mont Blanc. It has just 2,800 inhabitants, is located at 1,224 meters above sea level and is part of the province of Aosta. The well-known SkyWay cable car departs from its delightful hamlet of Entreves, allowing you to almost reach the summit of Mont Blanc.

From the arrival station you can enjoy a breathtaking view and enjoy the incomparable view of the peaks of Monte Cervino and Monte Rosa. The soul of Courmayeur is obviously touristy but in the town there is no lack of some religious buildings of moderate interest. We include the Parish Church of San Pantaleone with an adjoining pretty botanical garden and the Sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Guerison, perhaps the most famous and visited in the region. Courmayeur immediately strikes the visitor with its stone buildings and wooden huts, always adorned with colorful flowers. The town center is quite lively, the central street is full of activities: bars, hotels, restaurants, typical shops and souvenirs are certainly not lacking to entertain the tourist.
