Travel on the island of Capri: Anacapri

Anacapri - Anacapri, together with Capri, are two of the best known Italian tourist resorts in the world. Reachable from the port of Naples, Anacapri has 7027 inhabitants in the winter, while in the summer it can contain up to 8000 inhabitants. It doesn't take much to be entranced by its breathtaking panorama. The Belvedere del Sognatore is in fact located on the highest point and is the right place to get lost in the wonderful gulf.

Still little known is the belvedere del tuono, an ideal place to admire the famous stacks of Capri in absolute silence. Along an interesting path in the middle of nature, you can admire ancient English forts built in 1800. Of historical importance is the Villa Damecuta, one of the few villas left standing despite the eruptions of Vesuvius and the attacks of the pirates of which the island in the past it was an object. Today it is one of the most famous B & Bs in the area, being able to rest in the villa is to take a dip in the past without forgetting the wonderful view that each room is equipped with. Moving to the center we cannot fail to focus on the 'Red House', a very particular historical building. Today a museum of historical artifacts found on the island and home to the annual event 'The painted island: a pictorial journey to Capri and Anacapri between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries'. Seat of numerous tourist activities for residents and tourists is the Mario Cacace multimedia room. A few steps away we find the greatest treasure of Anacapri: the Church of San Michele Arcangelo. The work has a particular octagonal shape and houses the famous majolica floor. Walking through Piazza Boffe we find the monument made in memory of the writer Axel Munthe who wanted to be buried in his residence in Capri, he was so in love with this island of dreams. Talking about Anacapri is talking about the wonderful Blue Grotto. The particular color of the cave is due to the presence of the marine threshold that filters the light at the entrance giving the cave this enchanting color. Finally, we can only go to the Anacapri chairlift where it is possible to live a unique experience of its kind, in fact sitting almost in balance we can delight in the view of the mountains and the sea that embrace each other before our eyes.
