Gaeta - We are located in Gaeta, a town in the province of Latina, known as the city of a hundred churches, overlooking the sea of the coast on the border between Lazio and Campania. In the past it was already populated by the Aurunci, and then passed under the influence of Rome where it became one of the most loved tourist destinations by emperors, consuls and wealthy patricians. It then passed in the following centuries under the dominion of the Angevins and Aragonese. Its historic center, of medieval origin, is known as Gaeta Vecchia, a set of narrow streets and alleys characterized by the scents and sceneries of the past, enriched by local bars and restaurants. Walking along, you can reach the Temple of San Francesco, founded by himself in 1222 at the foot of Mount Orlando. Near the port we find the cathedral, dating back to the late Middle Ages, is divided into seven naves and is supported by 6 rows of Roman columns, still visible today. The bell tower has a western Islamic flavor. A distinguished location is Via Independenza, with delightful houses, balconies full of plants, clothes hanging, stalls and a lot of tradition.
