A walk in Mesola
Nature Culture
Mesola - Mesola is a town located in the province of Ferrara, in Emilia Romagna. The tour that the video offers us starts from Piazza Santo Spirito where there is an indication for the Destra Po, one of the longest cycle paths in Europe, think that it starts from Stellata and reaches Gorino, well 120km. Different stages are possible, as shown in the sign showing the distance for each main stage. (continues below the video)
The main attraction of the area is the Estense Castle which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. The building was built around 1500 at the behest of the last descendant of the Este dynasty, Alfonso II d'Este. The castle can be visited and consists of several floors; on the ground floor it is possible to know the history and genealogy of the Estense people through illustrative panels. On the first floor we find the apartments of the Duke and Duchess, where it is possible to admire the splendid and numerous frescoes; the second floor houses the Mesola Forest and Deer Museum, an attraction suitable even for children.
