The city of Leonardo da Vinci

Vinci - Vinci is a small town in the province of Florence. Its alleys and various churches are very picturesque, as is the Castello dei Conti Guidi which dominates the town and dates back to the year 1000. But Vinci has been famous all over the world for centuries for another reason: here on 15 April 1452 was born the great scientist, artist and inventor Leonardo who with his works changed the history of all of us.

Since the beginning of the 1900s, many people have begun to visit the city to discover the views and places that inspired its famous citizen. A museum has been dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci which each year has about 130,000 visitors. In addition to this, the town represents a strategic point for tourists as it is located a few kilometers from cities of art such as Empoli, Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca. Very suggestive are also the Renaissance dinners that are organized by local associations where you can eat the food of the time such as a type of biscuit called Smile of Mona Lisa.
