Crotone: a buried antiquity

Crotone - Crotone is a city on the inland coast wedged between the provinces of Catanzaro and Cosenza and on the Ionian Sea. The tour of the historic center of Crotone can only start from the Chapel, from the High Mountains, from the Temple of the Muses, Casa Pitagora and Palazzo Zurlo, and then to the Archaeological Museum of Crotone, where the temples and remains of ancient Crotone are kept. The Crotone Castle, also known as Carlo V Castle, is located at the highest point of the city and occupies the landscape from Capo Alice to Capo Colonna with its bulk. It was in fact built for defensive purposes, even if the restorations in the 15th and 16th centuries have obscured its style and function as a fortress. The Archaeological Museum of Crotone is one of the most important museums in Calabria, it houses the findings of ancient Crotone and all the flourishing areas of Magna Graecia. The Garden of Pythagoras is a park with games and installations designed to teach through play. The math and philosophy games teach the ideas of Pythagoras and the museum inside allows you to apply the same ideas. The Cathedral of Crotone has recently been transformed into a chapel, where the Black Madonna of Crotone is kept in the Church of Capo Colonna. The Church of the Immaculate Conception is one of the churches to visit in Crotone. Its peculiarity is that it has a cross, one of the few crosses where Christ appeared with his eyes open before he died, and usually appeared with his eyes closed. Lungomare di Crotone: Lungomare Gramsci is an indispensable pedestrian itinerary for tourists visiting the city. There are clubs, bars and clubs along the seafront.
