Collecorvino, a village among the vineyards

Events Nature Culture Food and wine Folklore and traditions Curiosities

Collecorvino - Collecorvino rises between the Apennines and the Adriatic. Immersed in the vineyards, the village can be blessed with a bucolic, green and welcoming landscape like few others. The pleasure of staying is enhanced by the pleasant and mild climate, as well as by the purity of the country air that you can breathe there. The center has very ancient origins, having first attestations in 853 as 'res Corbini', being Corbino a count of Lombard origin who reigned over the area.

Among the main places of interest we have the convent of San Patrignano, which originated from a monastery established by the Benedictines in the 9th century; at present it is possible to enjoy a structure characterized by a frescoed portico, a cloister with the characteristic Franciscan well and the beautiful dining room. The site is home to the Trescatura event with the following parade of wheat wagons, a peasant festival of music, folklore and great warmth and participation. Another place of interest is the town church, dedicated to Sant'Andrea. Perhaps the most enveloping experience you can have in Collecorvino is walking through the alleys and avenues of this ancient village, which exudes pride and history from every brick. By virtue of the large vineyards, it is advisable to taste the wine produced with the grapes of these lands. In particular we mention the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC, a dry and soft product, with a characteristic cherry red color and a pleasant, fine but intense aroma.
