Chiavenna, the park of Paradise

Chiavenna - Chiavenna is a Lombard municipality in the province of Sondrio; rises 333 meters above sea level and has 7,200 inhabitants. In the eastern part of the town is Colle Paradiso which together with Castellaccio, another hill, form the archaeological botanical park from which it takes its name. The view is breathtaking, towards one of the most evocative panoramic views of the entire area.

Chiavenna can offer its famous historic center, called Pratogiano, with its well-known crotti, naturally air-conditioned cellars and the valuable complex of San Lorenzo. Guided tours are regularly organized in the archaeological botanical park, an initiative that attracts a large number of visitors. The excursions obviously take place with the presence of experts and include the ascent of the fortress until reaching the top, allowing you to know or rediscover this suggestive naturalistic wonder. Although we are only 300 meters above sea level, the different exposures, the different climatic factors manage to create a varied and valuable flora, totally different ecosystems. The starry night sky is the further sublime spectacle that the park offers its visitors.
