Lomaso - One of the most typical crops of Lomaso are potatoes, which are called 'montagnine'. The reason for the name is easy to understand: they are grown in the high mountains, and take their characteristic flavor from the qualities of the place where they grow. The microclimate of the territory, the altitude at which planting takes place, the atmospheric temperature are the three elements that make mountain potatoes unmistakable, but not only.

These potatoes also have another feature which is the way they are ripened. After harvesting, in fact, they are not immediately put on the market but are placed in the dark for several months, throughout the winter. The environment in which they are kept is ventilated thanks to large air conditioners. This allows the marketing of mountain potatoes until late spring. Before being industrially bagged, they are manually selected with the rejection of those with defects. Lomaso potatoes are both yellow and red and white.
