The tapered houses of the Arabata.

Pietrapertosa - In the regional park of Gallipoli Cognato and the small Lucanian Dolomites, the village has traces of ancient history that lead us by the hand, up to the Norman Castle, located between the rocky arches. Built on the mother rock, the Arabata district is a joint of houses articulated on top of each other, tall and pointed, resembling the spiers of the surrounding peaks.

The Scalelle district is an ups and downs of houses and stairways arranged on the levels of the rock, as when man intended to live first in natural things and only consequently in life. The Norman castle can be visited and the walls, the access passage and the tower remain, from the courtyard you can admire a wonderful panorama of the small Lucanian Dolomites. It is possible to fly over the whole valley in an angel's flight, covering 1.5 km at a height of 400 m up to Castelmezzano.
