Vinchiaturo goes back in time for a day

Vinchiaturo - Once Vinchiaturo, a small town on the outskirts of Campobasso, was of great importance for the whole territory. In fact, until the 1970s, many handicraft trades took place here and markets and fairs were held. To revive those not so remote times, the re-enactment of the ancient crafts was held in the historic center. The children of the elementary school of the Istituto Comprensivo Matese gave new life to the streets of the village.

The more than 100 participants were helped by their teachers but not only, also by the elderly who jealously kept the tools of the trade and made them available. The peasants also lent their animals. So the shoemaker's shop and the blacksmith's shop, the barber and the carpenter came back to life. The women stood in the streets to embroider and sew, and the innkeeper served his wine. Musically the initiative was animated by the Il Concertino ensemble, who sang in pure Vinchiaturese dialect.
