Siddi and its giants' tombs

Siddi - As in many other parts of Sardinia, also in Siddi there are some of the ancient monuments known as 'tombs of giants'. Those found in this area are called Sa Domu and S'Orcu, they are funerary monuments that amaze for their grandeur. Even those of Siddi are made of stone blocks, each weighing several tons, so much so that one wonders how they were positioned with such precision.

What is amazing about these tombs specifically is their size, because they are tall enough to walk upright inside. In front there is an open space, a square on which ceremonials were probably practiced. The entrance is characterized by an architrave, now split but once united. Entering, on the left, there is a niche that was perhaps a sort of altar on which rituals were practiced. The most notable part is the apse, which measures over 3 meters. The end of the tomb is closed by a vertical wall one meter, one and a half meters high.
