Rectangular in plan with four cylindrical towers and a higher central octagonal keep. Distinguished Renaissance work, the collaboration of Bramante, Antonio da Sangallo and even Michelangelo, who designed the central keep. It was in his honor that it took the name of Forte Michelangelo. The city center is represented by Corso Centocelle, overlooked by the Trajan theater, the trendiest clubs and the most renowned shops in the city. Superb is the Cathedral, dedicated to San Francesco d'Assisi, completed in 1782 and became the Cathedral in 1805; it is the most beautiful church in Civitavecchia, with a baroque facade, a single portal preceded by a fan-shaped staircase that opens directly onto the sea. Finally, the important port is worth a visit, considered the port of Rome, with the fort Michelangelo in the background.
