Another characterizing element is the Fontana Pretoria, located in the square of the same name, is from the Renaissance period and is the work of Francesco Camilliani. Imposing and majestic, it occupies almost the entire square. The church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio, known as 'della Martorana' is one of the many places of worship in Palermo, as well as a UNESCO site. It overlooks Piazza Bellini, and follows the Byzantine rite for the Italian-Albanian community of the city. The church of Santa Caterina is perhaps one of the most scenic because it is entirely Baroque. Do not miss the Palazzo dei Normanni with its majestic gardens, the Cathedral, the Politeama theater and a walk along the promenade dotted with clubs and shops.
